Some of My Old Music – Part 3 of 4

This next song I made was intended to give the impression of being in a mystic forest. These songs are suppose to be looped and played in the background of a game a few of my friends and I were developing. So if you can imagine playing through a game, moving your character through an unknown fantasy-inspired forest, I hope this music heightens that imagery.

I hope it inspires that imagery for you:

Mike Ziray – Dark Woods

Enjoy!

*This one is in AAC format, but as long as you have QuickTime it should work for you.

Some of My Old Music – Part 2 of 4

This next song I made was the very first one I made. As with the other ones, I made it in Apple’s GarageBand. Since it was the first song I created using GarageBand, it’s very simple and was very easy to make. This one was almost meant to loop, so there is no ending.

Enjoy Dark Piano:

Mike Ziray – Dark Piano

Enjoy!

Some of My Old Music – Part 1 of 4

This is one of four songs I made a few years ago. These tracks are meant to be looped so my apologies for the abrupt endings.

This first one is actually the last one I made of the four. The previous ones were dark and ominous to reflect the theme I was writing them for. I figured I’d start you out with a cheerful one.

These were done in Apple’s GarageBand if you couldn’t tell:

Mike Ziray – Cheerful Piano

Enjoy!

Washington Early Music Festival and Early Music of Germany

I received this on the German Listserv and figured I’d share for anyone in the DC area and/or interested in German music or music in general.

The Cultural Affairs Department of the German Embassy would like to announce the “Washington Early Music Festival” (WEMF) presenting its fourth early music festival from June 15 – 28, 2008 in Washington DC.
A different country and culture is featured each year. This year the Festival will perform music of German composers, ranging from the 12th to the 18th century. Fourteen concerts, 3 workshops, lectures and receptions are planned. Please refer to the press release and programme information below.
Tickets to most performances may be purchased at the door. More information is available from the WEMF website: www.earlymusicdc.org

Sincerely,

The
