Budapest Skating

For as long as I’ve lived in Budapest, I never got to go skating near City Park. So when I returned this past December and January, we went on New Years Day and it was an absolute blast. In the background is Vajdahunyad Castle and you can see Heroes’ Square from the rink as well. We went with Laszlo, Gabor, and our friend Tea who’s from Nice, France (where we later ended up staying and skiing for a few days later on).

Check out the collision that Tea sets Laszlo up for about a 1/4 from the beginning:

Discover Scuba

We had an excellent showing again at Discover Scuba. Unfortunately this is the last one of the semester, so if you missed it, you’ll have to sign up for a full course or wait until next semester.

One of the guys brought his TransPac harness with dual side mounted tanks and let us try it out. When Steve got it, the first thing he tried to do was swim under the bridge to the deep end of the pool. Scott, whose TransPac it was, was wearing a club BCD and took it off so that he himself could fit under the bridge. Can you tell these guys are cave divers? Enjoy the video below:

Photos of the Week (3/1)

This week was a little busy, so out of the photos that I did get processed, here are two. Enjoy:

Lake of Clouds

Lake of Clouds – Taken on our ski trip to Austria. This was over 1 800 meters (~5 900 feet) above the sea.

Straight Down

Straight Down – The edge of the ski resort, literally.
